When a woman, man or teenage girl or boy is diagnosed with cancer, there is only a brief window of time to learn about options for preserving his or her fertility before treatment. Cancer therapy often has irreversible effects on a patient's fertility. Oncofertility -- the intersection of oncology and reproductive medicine -- is a new, rapidly advancing field that strives to preserve fertility in cancer patients.
